Postdoctoral Researchers
Xiufeng SUN acquired her Ph.D
degree from the Institute of Botany, CAS in 2011. Xiufeng’s Ph.D research work
focused on the diversity and community of arbuscular mycorrhizal
fungi
(AMF) in response to global change and different plant
functional groups removed in Inner Mongolia steppe. She
joined Guo’s lab in 2013 as Postdoctor. She currently works on AMF community of Illicium verum with different yields in
Guangxi Province of Southern China.
PhD Students
Nan-nan SHI joined Guo’s lab in September, 2009, after received his bachelor's degree at the College of Life Science of Henan Normal University. Nan-nan is interested in interactions between mycorrhizae and plant community, particularly in the effect of mycorrhizal fungal species and diversity on the woody plant species competition in a Chinese subtropical forest ecosystem.
Liang
CHEN received his bachelor's degree at the College of Life Science of Ludong
University in 2010 and joined Guo’s lab in September 2010 as a graduate student.
His current research focuses on the structural pattern and drivers of the
arbuscular mycorrhizal mutualistic network in a Chinese subtropical forest.
Niu-niu
JI obtained her bachelor’s degree at the College of Life Science of Ludong University in 2011. She was enrolled
as a graduate student at Guo's lab in September 2011. She current research interest is the diversity and geogrophic distribution pattern of soil (ectomycorrhizal) fungi and soil microbial functional genes in temperate, subtropcal and tropical forest ecosystems.
Bin-wei
WU obtained her bachelor's degree at the College of Medicine, Qingdao
University in 2012. As a graduate student, she joined Guo’s lab at the Institute of Microbiology, CAS, in September of 2012. Her current work focuses on the community structure of ectomycorrhizal fungi of Fagaceae plants in China.
Graduate Students
Yong-long WANG received his bachelor's degree at the College of Life Science, the Inner Mongolia University in 2013. As a graduate student, he joined Guo’s lab in September 2013. He is currently interested in ectomycorrhizal fungal community of Betulaceae plants in China.
Ying XU obtained her bachelor's degree at the biotechnology department of the Inner Mongolia Normal University in June of 2013. As a graduate student, Ying became a member of Guo's lab in September, 2013. She is currently interested in the ectomycorrhizal fungal community of Pinus plants in China.
Jia-long LI received his bachelor’s degree from the Guizhou University
(GU). He worked as an assistant in the Lab of Plant Physiology of GU for two
years. He joined Guo’s lab in September 2013. As a master candidate, he is currently interested in
the diversity and distribution pattern of endophytic fungi of mangrove in southern
China.
Peng-peng LV received his bachelor’s degree from
the Jilin Agricultural University in 2013. He joined Guo’s lab in September 2014 as a graduate student.
He is
currently interested in the response of AM fungal community and function to drought stress in maize.

Dr Liyan
SUN joined the lab as a Senior Visiting Scholar in July 2013, working on diversity of endophytic fungi associated with lichens. She is a faculty
for the College of Pharmacy, Taishan Medical University in Shandong Province.
Former Students
Wei
YANG obtained B.A. at the College of Life in the Yunnan University in 2008, and joined Guo's lab in September 2008 as a graduate student.
She worked on the response of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi
to global climate change in an alpine meadow on the Tibet plateau.
Qingming GAO received his B.A. from the Inner Mongolia University in July 2003. He joined Guo's lab as a
graduate student in September 2003, and completed his M.S. in May 2006. His
M.S. project focused on the AM fungal diversity and community
composition in different ecosystems in the Tibetan Plateau. Qingming obtained
his Ph.D degree from University of Kentucky in April 2012, and is currently
employed as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Plant Pathology, University
of Kentucky, USA.
Qin WANG completed her master's degrees in the summer of 2006 at Northwest Agriculture & Forestry University. She joined Guo's lab as a Ph.D candidate in September 2006 and worked on the diversity and community structure of
ectomycorrhizal fungi in different forest ecosystems in China. She obtained her Ph.D in July of 2010. She now works in Academy of Forestry of Liaoning Province.

Yuanying
SU obtained her bachelor's
degree from University of Ludong in 2004. In the
same year, she joined Guo's lab and worked on AM and endophytic fungal diversity. She completed her Ph.D in Guo’s lab in June of 2010.
Xin SUN received her bachelor’s
degree in the Beijing Forestry University in 2005.
She joined Guo’s lab as a graduate student and worked on the responses of AM fungal diversity and soil
enzyme activity to exotic plant invasion. She gained her
Ph.D degree of science in 2013 and now is a post-doc in Prof. Qingyin Zeng’s
lab in State Key Laboratory of Systematic and Evolutionary Botany, the Institute of Botany, CAS.
Yong-Chan KIM completed his M.S. in Graduate School, Academy of Sciences, DPR Korea in 2001 and joined Guo’s lab as a Ph.D candidate in 2010. His Ph.D project focused on the responses of AM fungal community to experimental warming, precipitation and nitrogen deposition in the Inner Mongolian steppe, China. He obtained Ph.D degree in October 2013 and now is working in Institute of Microbiology, DPR of Korea.

Yu WANG joined Guo's lab as a graduate student after obtained B.A. from the Liaoning University in 2001. He worked on the diversity of endophytic fungi of Pinus and obtained MS degree in 2004.

Dr. Ji-guang
WEI was a
visiting scholar in Guo’s Lab from 2001 to 2002, and did endophytic
identification work under the supervision

Ying ZHANG obtained B.A. in the Laiyang Agricultural University (Qingdao Agricultural University) in 2000. She joined Guo's lab as a visiting graduate student and worked on AM fungal diversity in a Chinese subtropical ecosystem from 2001-2012. She worked in Guo's lab as a staff until 2005. She obtained Ph.D in The University of Hong Kong in 2010. She now works in the Institute of Microbiology, Beijing Forestry University.

Ms Yan-yan
LONG, as a
visiting Ph.D student, did her Ph.D work regarding the endophytic
identification and taxonomy work in Guo’s Lab from 2009 to 2012. She obtained
her Ph.D from Guangxi University in 2013.
